Drivers who run red lights are killing people at record rates. Nearly 1,000 people were killed in those types of crashes in 2017 across the U.S., according to the American Automobile Association. AAA says since 2008 about 150 Nevadans have been killed by drivers blowing past red lights. AAA credits several factors, such as people driving more and drivers being distracted more often. Researchers say people who can see red light cameras, or get a ticket for not stopping, run fewer red lights.
