Attempted break-in at Las Vegas apartment leads to shooting, police say
A man is recovering at the hospital after police say an attempted break-in led to a shooting in a Las Vegas apartment complex. Police say three people were trying to break into an apartment near Desert Inn and Fort Apache roads. A witness tells 13 Action News that they heard the incident but didn't see it. The witness says a man was home with his daughter when he heard the three people trying to break in. He told his daughter to call the police and he grabbed his gun. The man then shot the suspect and all three ran away. The suspects jumped a small wall but the injured man collapsed between two apartments in another complex next door, according to the witness. That man was taken UMC Trauma. No word on his condition at this time. It is unclear is any arrests were made. This incident remains under investigation. This is breaking news, check ktnv.com updates.
