Tariane is much like a horse whisperer. Raising horses on her property in Eastern British Columbia she does amazing things. While teaching her children to care for and ride the beautiful animals she also uses them for therapy. Spending time with animals is very therapeutic. Whether challenged with mental disorders or chronic stress such as ptsd (post traumatic stress disorder), animals have amazing curing principles. Therapy animals come in many forms. Definitely the most commonly seen type of therapy animal, dogs come in all shapes and sizes and make ideal therapy animals. Therapy horses are great animals to aid in mental health and are also used in equine-facilitated psychotherapy by addiction treatment centers, veterans groups, and other mental wellness facilities that are overseen by medical professionals. Riding the horse is not the only therapeutic aspect of the animal. Grooming and caring for a horse is know to be very relaxing. Horses also help teach people a variety of things, such as trust building and work ethic, in addition to dealing with emotions. Tariane has taught her horses to load and unload themselves for a number of reasons. The main reason Tariane needed to have her animals so comfortable loading and unloading is in the case of an emergency. If a forest fire or any other emergency were to happen, she knows her horses will obey her commands rather than panic, making the whole process safer for everyone. What an amazing woman.
