Deer Trail, Colorado claims the first rodeo in 1869, but so does Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1872. Texas rangers, who were an expert in horse riding, learned Hispanic techniques and traditions and applied this to their ranches. This is how the bullfight started in the United States.

Why are bulls so angry in bull riding?

A strap is placed around the bull's belly just before the rear-legs to stimulate bucking. Apparently an irritating feeling for the bulls.
