Dramatic video has shown just how close a cruise ship came to smashing into the shore during a strong hail storm yesterday. A terrifying video has captured a moment when a giant cruise liner lost control in heavy winds and was about to crash into a port in Venice. We can clearly see in the footage, the Costa Deliziosa can be seen pulling into the shore of Sette Martiri during a wild storm, and blowing its emergency horns as tug boats work quickly in responding to the vessel. Rain, strong wind, hail and a disturbing situation can be seen beating up the ship and dock continuously while the ship is out-of-control against the smaller boats and a yacht. Check it out in the above video.

Passengers run away in fear for their lives after the vessel. The ship’s captain struggled to stay afloat as it attempted to reach the bank in high winds, hail, and rain. The ship turned but fortunately avoided crash into a yacht anchored in Riva Sette Martiri. The ship named Costa Deliziosa, was about to leave the port, pulled by tugs, but struggled to stay on course in the bad weather conditions and was unable to maintain its balance.

As a result, the captain of the ship sounded a long emergency siren, while bow tugs continuously struggled to straighten it and maintain its balance. A statement issued by the cruise company Costa said: “A sudden weather event affected Costa Delicious (The ship) with hard gusts causing a deviation during its passage from Canal guidance under the Commander and three tugboats which promptly assisted the ship.” The ship made the passengers terrified, probably they remember the collision in the Giudecca canal between a ship and a small boat. As a result of that incident, five people were injured. Some social media users insisted the authorities take action after the misses to avoid such incidents in the future.

The video has got more than 50000 views in just one day. A spokesperson for the Costa Deliziosa told the authorities that the close-call was the reason for this incident. The Commander maintained control of the ship even in the condition of extreme and sudden problems that disturbed the ship. The ship has then resumed its travel towards its planned destination. The incident was terrified because it comes just a month after the collision of the MSC Opera ship and a small ship of tourists, compelling the city's mayor to call for an alternative route as the Giudecca Canal has become busy.
