Sparklers burn at temperatures of up to 2000 degrees and can cause severe burns. According to the National Fire Protection Association, sparklers are responsible for more than 25% of fireworks injuries that result in emergency room visits.
Worse, they accounted for nearly half of those injuries caused to children under five years of age. fireworks also cause an average of 18,500 fires every year.
