Although “Booksmart” received a lot of praise from those who watched it, the film flopped at the box office. According to UPROXX, one reason it may have not succeeded was because of Marvel. Director J.J. Abrams worries what big films like those of Marvel and Star Wars will do the film industry. He said a film “as entertaining, well-made and well-received” should have done well financially.
