Uproxx reports HBO's latest miniseries 'Chernobyl' has performed better than expected. The five-part TV event dramatizes the 1986 Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant explosion in Ukraine, Soviet Union, and stars Jared Harris, Stellan Skarsgard, and Emily Watson. HBO cleverly timed the series to premiere a few weeks before 'Game of Thrones' ended, so that viewers would keep their subscriptions to watch 'Chernobyl' once word of mouth spread.
