Jessie James Decker Said Her Brother Inspired Her 'Old Town Road' Cover

Jessie James Decker recently released a cover of Lil Nas X’s song, “Old Town Road.” At the 2019 CMT Awards, Decker explained that it was her brother who suggested doing the cover. She recalls her brother saying: “‘You need to spice things up. You’re becoming an old lady. You need to get with the young people. You should cover this song.’” Decker said she never heard the song before that moment but thought it was “cool.” Her brother told her to trust him and record a cover for it.
