Mating lizards

These little lizards (Anolis carolinensis) can be found everywhere in Northern Mississippi, when they aren’t changing colors to hide. Typically they change the color of their surroundings. During this mating session the male is bright green while the female is darker. He has latched his hind legs around her and won’t let her go. Eatcv until the end when the female tries to slip away under the chair and the male holds onto her.
