Montrealers are signing a petition to ban cars in Old Montreal

A new petition, launched by l’Association pour la Mobilité Active de Ville-Marie, is asking the city to do what it can to get cars out of Old Montreal. 15 organizations based in and around the area, like the Association des Residents de Vieux Montreal, have signed on in support. Hopefully, say the groups demanding new limitations, their proposed changes will not only make Montreal more eco-friendly but help eliminate pedestrian deaths. Active mobility, the petitioners say, needs to be safer for the usual biker, roller blader, and walker.
