World Ovarian Cancer Day took place last week on May 8; it's a day when women with ovarian cancers, their families, and supporters unite to raise awareness about the disease. It's also an ideal time for all women to talk to their loved ones about their family health history and learn about their risk of developing ovarian cancer and other diseases. Joining us to discuss the importance of genetic and tumor testing, and the emotional barriers of discuss family health history with relatives, are Dr. Thomas Herzog from the University of Cincinnati Cancer Institute and Matthew Loscalzo, director of Supportive Care and Population Science Programs at City of Hope Medical Center.
