Evan Rachel Wood Cast In Hiroshima Drama ‘One Thousand Paper Cranes’

Evan Rachel Wood has been tapped to star alongside Jim Sturgess and Shinobu Terajima in “One Thousand Paper Cranes.” The film tells the story of Hiroshima survivor Sadako Sasaki and author Eleanor Coerr, who wrote the worldwide bestselling children’s book “Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes.” According to The Wrap, Sasaki was two years old when when the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima in 1945. Later she was diagnosed with leukemia caused by exposure to radiation from the blast.
