Reds dedicate 1869 pavilion Saturday

The Reds season-long celebration of baseball’s first professional team kicks into high gear this weekend with festivities to honor the 1869 Red Stockings, baseball’s first all-salaried team. The 1869 Red Stockings Pavilion outside the Reds Hall of Fame will be officially dedicated at 5 p.m. Saturday on Joe Nuxhall Way outside Great American Ball Park. The event is open to the public. In addition, the Reds will wear throwback uniforms during Saturday’s and Sunday’s games against the San Francisco Giants.
