Oprah Winfrey Talks About Moment She Was Denied Equal Pay

On April 30th, 2019, Oprah Winfrey accepted the Hollywood Reporter’s Empowerment in Entertainment Award. After Alicia Keys handed her the award, Winfrey spoke about her experience as a business woman. According to Extra, in her acceptance speech she told a story about being denied equal pay. When she was working in the news in Baltimore she asked to be paid the same as he co-anchor. Yet was told no because she was a single woman without kids she wasn’t “entitled” to earn the same amount.
