John Singleton, the Oscar-nominated director, has died. He was 51.
Singleton suffered a stroke 13 days ago, according to SFGate.com.
He passed away on Monday after a decision was made to remove him from life support.
A statement from his rep says he “passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family and friends.”
Singleton was known for his direction and writing in the film world.
But he also used that platform to express criticism of the entertainment industry at large.
