This stranger can't resist dog's invitation to play at the beach

Oliver is a Golden Retriever with a love for playing fetch. He is an incredibly happy dog and his positive approach to life is infectious. An outgoing fellow, he decided to make friends with a perfect stranger at the beach. Knowing that most humans understand the rules to playing "fetch the stick", Oliver picked one up and ran straight for his new friend, Dave. Delighted to play along, Dave took the stick and threw it into the shallow water of Lake Ontario, at the Cobourg beach. This was obviously exactly what Oliver had in mind and he ran happily to get it.

The game alternated between tug of war and fetch, with Oliver changing the rules on the fly. Sometimes he let go and turned expectantly to look out over the waves and sometimes he playfully growled and hung on tight. Oliver had another game in mind, one that involved running up to his owner, dropping the stick and shaking vigorously to get the water off. Catching on quickly, she turned her back when he did this, to avoid the spray. Oliver was the only one who wanted to get wet on this cold, April day. It's hard to know if this was his sense of humor that made it an intentional prank, but he repeatedly ran up close before shaking the water off. Of course, this made everybody burst out laughing, including his owner.

Oliver was a rescue, coming to this lady from a less than ideal home. But it's clear that Oliver has found the right place to call his "forever home" and regular walks on the beach are a part of life for him now. With his happy-go-lucky personality and handsome face, Oliver is sure to make new friends every day.
