Parrot More Interested in Paper Cup than Yummy Treat

In this video Tycho the African Grey is hanging out on his play stand playing with a paper cup. He is so busy playing with the container that he completely forgets that the cup has a tasty treat inside of it. Gravity plays it's eventual role, as he accidently dumps his food on the floor. You have to watch carefully to capture the moment when the treat makes it’s great escape. Oh well, the cup is much more fun to play with!

Tycho the Grey is a 22 year old Congo African Grey Parrot who believes that cameras are parrot eating monsters, so his pet hooman has be clever to capture him on tape.. Tycho exhibits his thoughtful approach to life as he snacks on his favorite treats, chews up toys, and hangs out with the rest of the flock. Tycho’s flock includes Max the Moluccan (A 25 year old Moluccan who believes that all hoomans are ridiculous and that it’s always a great time for snacks), Tikal (A 44 year old Amazon who enjoys saying hello), and his pet hooman (a featherless biped who doesn’t listen). Tycho came to live with his pet hooman 22 years ago, when he was only 6 months old. He really is part of the family.

Congo African Grey Parrots, also known as Grey Parrots (Pittacus erithacus), can live 40 to 60 years in captivity. Their feathers are shades of white and grey, giving a distinctive look. The Congo African Grey is easily recognized by the brilliant red tail feathers. Like all Parrots they require a lot of attention, nutrition and care. Greys are highly intelligent and need a lot of interaction and mental stimulation.
