Sasquatch Resort, previously known as Hemlock is located 154 kilometers east of Vancouver in the beautiful Fraser Valley.  It is nestled in a natural snow bowl tucked away above Harrison Lake. Privately owned, the resort relies on a number of sponsors to keep the resort running smoothly for all its tenants and enthusiasts. The beautiful location brings skiing and snowboarding to local residents as well as tourists. Hiking, snow shoeing, skidooing, skiing and snow boarding are all part of the activities enjoyed here. The resort has a number of private homes as well as condominium complexes within a few minutes walk of the chair lifts as this is a very quaint resort area. Condo rentals are available at very reasonable rates going along with very affordable rates for skiing and snowboarding. Snow tubing is also a main attraction for those that do or do not ski and snow board making this resort great for every family. As the season comes to a close, the resort holds a long time fun activity called King of the Hill. Prizes are provided by the resorts sponsors making this a very exciting friendly competition between participants. Many of the participants are friends and even family. The racers start at the top of the Red Chair run. Racing for the bottom of the run, the racers must remove their skis or snowboards then charge up to the restaurants patio where they must chug down a provided beverage without spillage. Of course not all racers arrive to the bottom of the run at the same time or speed, making the removing of their skis or boards, very exciting. Once arriving at the patio, the racers must gulp down, without spilling, the designated beverage. That one athlete that finishes the beverage first, is crowned King of the Hill. What a fun event on a beautiful Saturday afternoon during spring break 2019.
