According to a report by SFGate, the live-action adaptation of 'Akira,' which has long been rumored at Warner Bros is among the latest 18 projects selected for California's film and TV tax credit program. It is reportedly expected that the eight independent and ten non-indie projects selected will generate around 408 million dollars in qualified expenditures in the state.
