Fox Network 'Gratified' Charges Against Jussie Smollett Were Dropped

Charges against “Empire” star Jussie Smollett have been dropped by the Cook County State’s Attorney Office. Network Fox and studio 20th Century Fox TV said they were “gratified” at them being dropped. The two said in a joint statement that Smollett “has always maintained his innocence.” This comes after executive producers decided to remove Smollett from the final episodes of “Empire.” According to SFGate, this all related to Smollett reporting being attacked by two racist and homophobic men.
