This rescue dog has become a unlikely guardian angel - for an orphaned baby horse. Zip, a three-year-old Australian Cattle Dog, has become very protective of the 13-day-old foal, whose mother died shortly after she was born. “Zip is acting like the foal’s father, he is very loving towards the her,’ said Karla Swindle, 47, who runs a S & K Quarter Horses in Fayette, Alabama, USA. “He licks and nuzzles her and he stays by her side the whole time, making sure she’s OK, he even sleeps next to her at night.
