A grandfather is proud to have worked for the Royal Air Force for an impressive 50 years – and says he has no plans to stop.

Pete Dunning, 65, joined as an apprentice on January 10 in 1969 aged 15 and was surprised to be told earlier this month that he has now served for half a century. During that time he saw the decline of the British Empire, the Cold War, the Falklands War, the fall of the Berlin Wall and more recently the Gulf Wars.
