Maybe it was the unprecedented ridicule and scorn. Maybe it was the laughable DNA test. Maybe it was the Cherokee Nation scorching her. Or, maybe it’s the simple fact that she’s wrong and her charade has run its course. Whatever the reason, color me mildly surprised that Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren has all but admitted her ruse and come clean on her alleged Native American heritage. As the Washington Post reports, Warren gave a speech at Morgan State University, which is a historically black school. “As a country, we need to stop pretending that the same doors open for everyone, because they don’t,” Warren said in a commencement address. That’s when she chose to drop perhaps the most obvious statement of all time — one that has been readily apparent to swathes of Americans for some time now. “I’m not a person of color,” Warren admitted. “And I haven’t lived your life or experienced anything like the subtle prejudice, or more overt harm, that you may have experienced just because of the color of your skin.”
