Police searching for hit-skip driver who injured 12-year-old girl

The driver who hit 12-year-old Kenya Austin Friday morning did so while she was on a marked crosswalk and waving across Ferguson Road at a friend. According to her mother, Asia Allen, the impact snapped her femur in half. “She flew,” said 14-year-old Amerie Harris, the friend to whom Austin had been waving. “I was like, ‘Is she okay? Is she going to be able to talk? Is she going to be able to come back to school? Is she going to stay alive?’”
