KC Scout team activates 'snow desk' to better monitor, respond to weather-related traffic incidents

As salt trucks treated highways around Kansas City early Thursday morning, another team worked from inside to make sure the driving public has a safe commute. On days when teams expect snow, like Thursday, KC Scout brings in extra help to operate its "snow desk." This group communicates with MoDOT drivers on the highways to update the state's road conditions map in real time, allowing drivers to get an idea of what to expect before they hit the roads.
