"Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis was ordered by Superior Court Judge Rachel Krause to pay $54,264 in attorney fees for intentionally violating Georgia's Open Records Act.

The ruling stems from Willis' failure to provide records requested by Ashleigh Merchant, the attorney representing Michael Roman, a co-defendant in the Georgia election interference case against President Donald Trump.

Court documents reveal that Willis’ office withheld documents related to the employment of Nathan Wade, a former special prosecutor, prompting the judge to find her actions "substantially groundless and vexatious."

Willis now has 30 days to pay the fine and release the requested records."
