There are so many things in this haftarah portion. The laver being like the keruv angel that blocked the way to the tree of life. Washing hands and feet in the laver, also connected to every person's water baptism when they are born again, is symbolic of choosing to live the resurrection life with Y'shua. When Moses comes down from the first 40 days on Mount Sinai, he sees his people frolicking with a golden calf. It broke God's heart. He still later forgave them. The price was 3,000 men died of Israel and a plague went forth. There is much more in this portion than I could put here.
