Carbon dioxide is routinely singled out as the climate villain, but it makes up only a tiny fraction of Earth’s atmosphere. Even so, we often hear that rising CO₂ levels will accelerate global warming. In this video, we take a closer look at the concept of CO₂ saturation—how carbon dioxide molecules can only absorb so much heat before additional CO₂ makes little to no difference.

New findings from atmospheric scientists at prestigious institutions like MIT and Princeton suggest that we may have already hit the saturation point.
