Knights of the Dunes

Lyrics:
The sand it whispers stories late at night
Of armor gleaming in the pale moonlight
A kingdom bound by honor’s sworn embrace
Defenders of the dunes in a perilous race

Through the narrow scars of the mountains they ride
Where the wind and stone are all on their side
Airships loom and rifle shots scream
But courage burns brighter than any machine

The invaders came with fire that breaks the sky
Steel birds above and a cold
Tireless eye
But against the mount and the sword they clash
For the mountains laugh and leave only one pass

The dunes are alive with their thunderous cries
A harmony born of sacrifice
Knights on horseback their hearts alight
For every pass won is the enemy’s fright

Through the narrow scars of the mountains they ride
Where the wind and stone are all on their side
Airships loom and rifle shots scream
But courage burns brighter than any machine

Blades may rust and the sun may burn
But a knight’s fierce vow will never turn
Their crosses carved in the shifting sand
A wall of defiance where no rifles stand

But courage and stone cannot hold alone
With every salvo more knights were thrown
For days they held against the odds
Till the last knight fell for his land and gods

A gleaming desert jewel the kingdom had been
But the coming doom could not be foreseen
Virtue and honor had covered the land
Now Science had ground it back into sand
