Recent military engagements in the vicinity of Kupyansk have included an offensive operation along the eastern bank of the Oskil.

Despite the loss of Kupyansk, Russian troops persisted in their efforts to liberate the city, engaging in ongoing combat operations to the north and south of the city.

At the onset of the year, the Russian Armed Forces achieved a substantial advance on the eastern bank of the Oskil, yet the complete expulsion of the enemy from this area has yet to be realized.

At the onset of 2025, Russian military forces escalated their offensive operations along the borders of Kotlyarovka - Kolesnikovka and Kruglyakovka - Stelmakhovka. These regions had remained challenging for the troops due to the presence of entrenched enemy forces in the forest-covered terrain.

In the initial two weeks, the Russian Armed Forces successfully cleared the area on both sides of the N-26 highway near Kislovka and advanced to the railroad line leading to Kupyansk-Uzlovaya.

By mid-January, a significant piece of terrain had been occupied at the Zagryzovo-Lozovaya line as a result of fierce fighting, and southeast of Lozovaya, the advance groups of the Russian Armed Forces had come close to Zeleny Gai.

The progression was hindered by the enemy's echeloned defenses, which were densely saturated with artillery.

For several months, the Russian Armed Forces engaged in intense combat operations to secure and advance on the northern outskirts of the settlement of Zagryzovo.

With the advent of spring, the Russian military successfully liberated Zagryzovo and advanced into the area of Boguslavka, concurrently tightening their eastern flank and securing multiple strongholds.

However, the ongoing drone strikes by Ukrainian forces on civilian infrastructure persist, prompting the authorities of the Svativka district to advise residents to refrain from using the R-66 highway since March. This advisory follows two fatalities and four injuries in the Svativka area over the past month.
Battles to the south of Kupyansk have persisted for nearly a year, and the crossing of the Oskol towards Senkovo remains impeded due to damaged bridges and crossings, hindering sufficient advancement.

It is anticipated that the primary objective of the advancing group remains the town of Borovaya, a significant logistics hub for the Ukrainian forces situated along the left eastern bank of the Oskol river, which is situated a mere 10 kilometers from the current location.
Intensive flights by Israeli aviation have been observed in the area.
