John Fraser is currently a member of the Spontaneous Cases Committee and the Council of the Society for Psychical Research. He was previously Vice Chair (Investigations) of The Ghost Club (founded in 1862) and joined the Association for the Scientific Study of Anomalous Phenomena in its founding year. He has written articles for the Fortean Times and other magazines.

He has appeared on radio, television in the U.K., and television in Japan. Amongst his other related interests, he also helped publicise the Second World Dracula Congress in Romania and helped promote the specialised ‘Dracula’ tourist market in this region. In 2015, he conducted in-depth research into the well-known and controversial poltergeist-style phenomena at ‘The Cage’, a former jail in St Osyth Essex. His book, Poltergeist: A New Investigation into Destructive Haunting, was Published in 2020 (6th Books), with further book, Paranormal Perspectives - One Big Box of Paranormal Tricks? out November 1st 2024.
