Introducing Long Fei Yang, DojoTelevision’s featured Martial Artist for March 2025! Master Long Fei has been an integral part of the DOJO family since 2000, when he first stepped in as an instructor. From the moment we met him all those years ago, it was clear he was someone extraordinary. His boundless energy, kindness, sharp wit, and exceptional skill made an unforgettable impression—qualities that continue to define him to this day.

Master Longfei Yang is a distinguished martial artist renowned for being the first certified instructor of Shanxi Seven Star Praying Mantis to establish a martial arts school outside of mainland China.

Born in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, Master Yang began his martial arts journey at the age of six with the local Wushu team, focusing on contemporary Wushu forms, weapons, and combat techniques. Under the guidance of his grandfather, Yang Jian Jiou—a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner and former Taiwanese army general—he delved into Tai Chi Chuan and "pushing hands," adhering to a rigorous daily training regimen.

Expanding his expertise, Master Yang trained in external styles such as Shaolin's "Iron Palm," "Iron Fist," and "Iron Body." He also explored Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do and the "Drunken Fighter" style. Seeking to enhance his internal martial arts proficiency, he studied under Grandmaster Li Shu Sen, a fifth-generation Shanxi Seven Star Praying Mantis practitioner, and Master Dong Xi Shen, a 20th-generation Chen Style Tai Chi Chuan instructor.

In 2005, Master Yang relocated to New York City, where he founded the Xin Wu Men Martial Arts Association in 2008. His mission is to promote Chinese culture and philosophy globally. Beyond regular classes, he offers personalized Tai Chi sessions for seniors and conducts workshops for cancer patients, utilizing traditional Chinese healing exercises. His dedication extends to teaching engagements throughout Central and South America.

Master Yang has authored several books, including "Shanxi Seven Star Praying Mantis Continuous Fist," which delves into the evolution of this martial art from Shaolin Boxing styles, emphasizing both internal and external techniques.

He has also appeared on television in South Africa and the U.S., featured in martial arts magazines, produced instructional videos, and directed martial arts sequences in films. As a respected figure in the martial arts community, he has served as a judge in international competitions since 1999.

Currently residing in New York with his family, Master Longfei Yang continues to actively promote traditional Chinese martial arts and culture. His unwavering commitment has significantly influenced the global appreciation and practice of Shanxi Seven Star Praying Mantis and other Chinese martial arts disciplines.

Master Longfei Yang originated Xin Wu Men in New York, USA. Its purpose is to help restore the light of the original philosophy that had permeated and enlivened the martial arts for centuries. And to promote traditional martial arts internationally.
