New Zealand beat Pakistan by 9 wickets in the 1st T-20I match

Pakistan Tour of New Zealand 2025:- The 1st Match of 5 match T-20I series was played between New Zealand and Pakistan at Hagely Oval,Christchurch New Zealand on 16th March,2025. In this match New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 9 wickets. In this match New Zealand Captain Michael Bracewell won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Pakistan while batting first were bowled out at paltry score of 91 runs in 18.4 overs only and gave target of 92 runs to New Zealand to win. In reply New Zealand scored 92 runs for the loss of one wicket and won the match easily by 9 wickets.
Pakistan while batting first started very poorly and lost 3 wickets cheaply at the score of one run only in 2.2 overs. Mohammad Haris was first to go without scoring in the very first over of Kayle Jamieson caught by wicket keeper Mitchell Hay. In the second over Jacob Duffy removed Hasan Nawaz without scoring on the second ball of the over caught by Kayle Jamieson.
Then Irfan Khan was out in the third over of the match again caught by the wicket keeper Mitchell Hay. He scored only one run. Shahdab Khan contributed 3 runs caught by Tim Robinson of the bowling of Kayle Jamieson and Pakistan were reeling on 11 for 4 wickets in 4.4 overs.
Then Captain Salman Ali Agha with Khushdil Shah tried to consolidate the innings and added 46 runs for the fifth wicket. But Ish Sodhi then removed Salman Ali Agha caught by Tim Seifert after scoring 18 runs. Khushdil Shah top scored with 32 runs from 30 balls which include 3 sixes.
Jahandad Khan made 17 runs and no other batsman could contribute and Pakistan was all out at 91 runs only in 18.4 overs.
Kyle Jamieson bowled superbly and took 3 wickets. Jacob Duffy took 4 wickets. Two wickets were taken by Ish Sodhi and one wicket was taken by Zakary Foulkes. Pakistan gave winning target of 92 runs to New Zealand.
New Zealand while Chasing target of 92 runs to win scored easily 92 runs for the loss of one wicket only. New Zealand openers Tim Seifert and Finn Allen added quickfire 53 runs for the first wicket and ensured the win. Tim Seifert was only batsman out caught by Mohammad Haris of the bowling of Abrar Ahmed after scoring 44 runs from 29 balls which include 7 fours and 1 six.
Finn Allen remained not out on 29 runs with Tim Robinson not out on 18 runs and won the match for New Zealand in 10.1 overs only. Kyle Jamieson was adjudged the Player of the Match Award.
