Invasive Fish Wrangler Event- Genshin Impact - Version 5.4
The Invasive Fish Wrangler event in Genshin Impact Version 5.4 is a limited-time co-op fishing event that launched on March 5, 2025, and runs until March 17, 2025. Set in the Fort Charybdis Ruins area of Fontaine, this event tasks players with helping an NPC named Jala, known as the "Unchained Hunter," catch invasive fish species to prevent an ecological crisis in the region’s waters. Below is a detailed breakdown of the event based on available information.
How to Unlock
To participate, you need to meet the following requirements:
Reach Adventure Rank 20 or higher.
Complete the Archon Quest Prologue: Act III - "Song of the Dragon and Freedom" (a relatively early quest in Mondstadt).
Start the event by speaking to Jala near the shore of Fort Charybdis Ruins and completing the introductory event quest, "A Very Fishy Encounter".
Event Overview
The event revolves around using Action Points to throw fishing nets of varying sizes (small, medium, and large) to capture invasive fish. The goal is to earn Wrangler Points, which unlock rewards. The event features two distinct modes:
Co-Op Mode: Players team up with others (up to four total) to catch fish collaboratively. Wrangler Points are awarded based on both individual and team performance. You start with a set amount of Action Points and work together to maximize your haul.
Fish-Off Mode: A competitive PvP-style mode where players are matched against others of similar skill (based on accumulated Action Points). Here, you compete individually to outscore opponents, and your performance affects your tier (Beginner, Veteran, or Master) and ranking among friends.
Gameplay Mechanics
Nets and Costs:
Small Net: Costs 5 Action Points.
Medium Net: Costs 20 Action Points.
Large Net: Costs 60 Action Points.
Matching the net size to the fish size (small, medium, large, or huge) increases your success rate and efficiency.
Wrangler Points:
Earned by catching fish, with rarer or larger fish yielding more points (e.g., the Bejeweled Unihornfish grants 2,500 Wrangler Points and is best caught with a Medium Net during Anglertides, periodic events within the challenge).
The maximum Wrangler Points you can earn increases over the first five days: 1,000 on Day 1, rising by 1,000 every two days up to 3,000 by Day 5.
Special Fish:
Frenzied Marvelfish (green glow): Boosts Action Points from small/medium nets for 15 seconds (up to 4x/3x normal value).
Multiplier Marvelfish (gold glow): Grants 5x Action Points for its size category.
Tiers in Fish-Off Mode: Your tier progresses based on total Action Points earned (10,000 for Veteran, 30,000 for Master), affecting matchmaking and point scaling.
Rewards
The event offers two types of rewards: Wrangler Point Rewards and Special Action Rewards. Here’s a sample of what you can earn:
Wrangler Point Rewards (cumulative):
500 Points: 70 Primogems, 1 Phony Bejeweled Unihornfish (Serenitea Pot fish), 3 Chapter of an Ancient Chord, 20,000 Mora.
1,000 Points: 70 Primogems, 1 Phony Bejeweled Unihornfish, 3 Sublimation of Pure Sacred Dewdrop, 20,000 Mora.
1,500 Points: 70 Primogems, 1 Phony Bejeweled Unihornfish, 3 Wine Goblet of the Pristine Sea, 20,000 Mora.
Special Action Rewards:
Catch 5 Marvelfish: 1 Phony Bejeweled Unihornfish, 4 Mystic Enhancement Ore, 20,000 Mora.
Additional rewards may include more Primogems, Mora, and materials as you reach higher point thresholds (up to 3,000+).
The Phony Bejeweled Unihornfish is a standout reward—a decorative fish for your Serenitea Pot’s pond, adding a unique touch to your housing system.
Tips for Success
Net Strategy: Use the right net size for the fish you’re targeting to conserve Action Points and maximize catches.
Timing: Watch for Anglertides to snag high-value fish like the Bejeweled Unihornfish.
Mode Choice: Co-Op is great for teamwork and steady point gains, while Fish-Off suits competitive players aiming for high scores and tiers.
Special Fish: Prioritize catching Marvelfish for their buffs, especially in Fish-Off Mode where every point counts.
Story Context
Jala’s mission ties into her past mistakes (releasing invasive fish in Mondstadt during Version 4.1’s Dodoco’s Bomb-Tastic Adventure) and her current efforts to atone by protecting Fontaine’s ecosystem. The event wraps up with her collaborating with the Maison Gardiennage to address the invasive species threat, offering a light narrative alongside the fishing gameplay.
Since today is March 16, 2025, you’ve got just one day left to dive in before the event ends on March 17, 2025, at 03:59 (server time). It’s a straightforward, rewarding event—perfect for snagging some Primogems and enjoying a bit of fishing fun solo or with friends!
