The second leg of our journey took us from Lake Whitney through Houston down to North and South Padre Islands before settling in Marathon north of Big Bed National Park. We lived out of our 100 series Land Cruiser and enjoyed not just the scenery but exploring on our terms with minimal food consumption along the way.
