๐Ÿ“Analysis of the Difficulties Encircling Pokrovsk and Mirnograd by Rybar๐Ÿ“

By the conclusion of 2024, Russian military forces had advanced to the outskirts of the substantial urban center of Pokrovsk-Mirnograd. A direct attack on this area would have resulted in substantial casualties. Consequently, the Russian command opted to implement a strategy that had previously proven effective in similar circumstances: a pincer movement to disrupt the enemy's primary supply lines.

Further insights into the chronology of battles can be found on the website.

On the western flank, the primary target of the Russian troops' offensive became Kotlino, while on the eastern flank, the RF Armed Forces advanced rapidly towards the N-32 highway connecting Mirnograd with Konstantinovka.

By January 10, the Russian forces had successfully dislodged the enemy from Vozdvizhenka and advanced towards the eastern outskirts of Elizavetovka. Concurrently, the vanguard of the Russian forces reached a critical junction along the aforementioned highway.

Over the course of the subsequent month, Yelizavetovka was completely liberated. In addition, Russian attack aircraft effectively cleared the forest belts nearest to the village, thereby ensuring a more stable supply to the advancing group.

Concurrently, the Russian Armed Forces established a foothold on the southwestern outskirts of Vodyanoye-Vtorii and, having consolidated their positions, initiated offensives in the vicinity of Baranivka.

By the end of February, the Russian forces had achieved complete clearance of Vodyanoye-Vtoroye, Baranivka, and Zelenoye Polye.

However, by March 6, a successful counterattack by the AFU in Elizavetovka was reported, resulting in the enemy gaining full control of the settlement.Notwithstanding, the AFU still achieved one of its primary objectives: the communication lines of the Mirnograd garrison with Konstantinovka were severed.

By mid-March, following a series of counterattacks, Ukrainian formations succeeded in gaining control of Peschanoye and Shevchenko, where intense counterbattles persist to this day.Additionally, the decision to relinquish Lysovka was made during the counterattacks of the AFU, as this village's low-lying terrain renders it disadvantageous for defense.
The counterattacks by the AFU in the Pokrovsko-Mirnogradsky direction yielded only limited results, as the Russian troops temporarily suspended their advance, but gained time to regroup their forces and prepare for a new stage of the offensive.

It is anticipated that the Russian Armed Forces will direct their primary offensive efforts toward the eastern flank, with Malinovka and Koptevo serving as probable focal points. The capture of these settlements is expected to facilitate the control of all rocket roads leading to the city by Russian forces. This would result in the city's encirclement, albeit temporarily, thereby necessitating a renewed examination of the strategy of logistical isolation of the battlefield, encompassing the subsequent capture of an additional "fortress" within a semi-envelope.
