Pickup and 2 Motorcycle Mishap, WEST TEMPE, March 14, 2025 - At approximately 2:45 pm on March 14, 2025, a silver Dodge pickup, driven by Allen Dean Grasmick, 63, of Grand Prairie, was west-bound on US-190 West (7899 block). Grasmick was waiting to make a left turn. A pair of Harley Davidson motorcycles behind Grasmick cut right to avoid hitting Grasmick from behind. One of the motorcycles clipped the back corner of the truck. This knocked the motorcycle into the other motorcycle. Both motorcycles left the pavement to the right crashing on eachother. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputy Trent Jones with the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Trooper Cesar Davila with The Texas Highway Patrol. The motorcycle drivers, Preston Green Mericle, 74, of Livingston, and Thomas Ellis, 66, of Onalaska were both hospitalized. Mericle was flown from the scene while Ellis was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital. Grasmick was not injured. All traffic on 190 was blocked during investigation and cleanup. The motorcycles were recovered by a nearby friend who had the right equipment to move the motorcycles to a waiting truck and trailer. This accident remains under investigation by The Texas Highway Patrol.
