Signs of change are subtle but present—there are reports of increasing discontent among younger generations, whispers of dissatisfaction despite severe punishments for dissent, and a growing reliance on smuggled media from the outside world. While North Korea remains closed off, its isolation is not as impenetrable as it once was, and cracks in the system may slowly be forming.
