Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer saying that Senate Democrats will not vote to pass the house approved government funding bill, pushing the nation toward a government shutdown.

The GOP needs 8 Democrats to pass the bill and avoid a shutdown, which, according to Schumer’s statement doesn’t seem likely.

If a deal isn't reached to bring over some Democratic support, the government will shut down at the end of the day Friday.

Even though Schumer is blaming Republicans for the impending shutdown, it’s his party that refuses to support the bill.

Many pointing out that Schumer is the same politician, along with many of his colleagues who previously criticized lawmakers for voting against a government funding bill, outlining the negative impacts it has on the American people

The only democrat to support the House bill, Rep. Jared Golden out of Maine, criticized Schumer and his party’s “messaging gimmicks.”

Golden confirmed in a statement shortly after the vote that it does not cut veterans care and accused his colleagues of “using misdirection to justify a vote.”
