The National Economic Council Director, Kevin Hassett, described all the economic progress that is already visible in the U.S. economy. There is a significant increase in the creation of new businesses and new jobs. Hassett states that the economic future will be much better.

"Well, I think the economic news we've been seeing is truly wonderful. It is far above economists' expectations.

If we look at last week's employment numbers, where we had a big positive surprise—10,000 manufacturing jobs, 9,000 auto industry jobs—and then we see today’s inflation number, the lowest core inflation in four years, you can see that President Trump's policies are working, and they are already working.

And one of the things you can see is that it is affecting the mortgage markets. This is something you just talked about because the reason mortgage markets are responding that way is that people know we are not going to be printing money and spending like drunken sailors on Capitol Hill, where there is a truly excellent practice of reducing public spending.

And we have a budget deal that we are actually negotiating later today. All of that is moving everything in a positive direction, and it will be reflected in real data, but also in consumer sentiment.

Absolutely, the numbers are far above expectations. And I can also tell you, Martha, as you know, it was covered in The Wall Street Journal. I have had about a dozen meetings with CEOs because they are all in town for the Business Roundtable meeting, and everyone is saying that the economy looks very, very solid right now."

Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick says President Trump's goal is to eliminate taxes for anyone earning less than $150,000 per year.
