Greater Noida: A shocking case of honor killing has emerged in Greater Noida, where a family, angered by their daughter's love marriage, allegedly killed her and cremated her body. The police acted swiftly, arresting both the father and brother within three hours of the incident.

According to Bisrakh police, the victim, Neha (23), a resident of Chipiyana village, was in a relationship with Suraj, a resident of Basalouta under Babugarh Cantonment Police Station, Hapur. Despite her family’s objections, Neha and Suraj secretly got married on March 11 at an Arya Samaj temple in Ghaziabad.

Upon learning about the marriage, Neha's father, Bhanu Rathore, and brother, Himanshu, allegedly plotted her murder. On the morning of March 12, they executed their plan, killing Neha and cremating her body to destroy evidence. However, local residents alerted the police, leading to a swift investigation.

Within three hours, Bisrakh police solved the case and arrested both accused. "The father-son duo confessed to the crime, and legal proceedings are underway," police officials stated. Authorities have condemned the act, emphasizing strict action against such honor killings.
