Compass Magnet Boat to Illustrate Earth's Magnetic Field

Here we see a little Compass Magnet Boat going pretty well. When the servo turns the magnets the magnets turn the boat. When the boat turns the fin pushes the boat through the water.

It's not easy to see the fin but it's almost as long as the food container boat.

The servo and circuit and batteries are mounted on a PLA part that was 3D printed on my Bambu Lab A1 mini.

The circuit is a 555 timer circuit that makes the servo turn side to side every 5 or 6 seconds or so. It is powered by 3 AAA batteries.

The magnets are n52 neodymium 3/4 inch diameter by 1/4 inch and there are 10 of them.

The Earth's magnetic field is very powerful indeed.
