How Much Gold Was Confiscated in 1933? Executive Order 6102 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt

In 1933 President Roosevelt signed an Executive Order 6102 stating that all Americans had to turn in Gold Coins, Gold Bullion and Gold Certificates to the Government.

The EO was signed April 5, 1933 and stated that all Citizens deliver their excess Gold holdings over to the government by May 1, 1933, in exchange for $20.67 per troy ounce.

The government was allowed to seize gold held by citizens.

The purpose was to Devalue the US Dollar.

The “Trading with the Enemy Act of 1917” gave the President authority to seize gold from US Citizens.

This order was in effect until 1974.

It is estimated that only 25% of the gold was turned which was around 2,665 Metric Tons of Gold.

Roosevelt later rose the price of Gold to $35 a Troy Ounce which devalued the US Dollar.

75% of the gold coins minted went into hiding and were never turned in.

This was a gold heist.

Those who didn’t turn in their coins saw their value almost double within a year.

They have the “Bail In” laws in effect now – Dodd-Frank Act of 2010, which will allow the banks to just claim ownership of you money if they are reckless and have loans go bad. I don’t know if this will ever happen as that would ruin all trust with the banks that chose to do this.

The Trading with the Enemy Act of 1917 and Roosevelt’s EO 6102 were 16 years apart.

Dodd-Frank Act of 2010 plus 16 years, would be 2026.
