Executive Director of Iowa Biotechnology Association Opposes Bill for more Adequate Gene-Based Vaccine Testing

March 3, 2025 at 1:30 PM in Des Moines at the Iowa State Capitol a subcommittee hearing was held to discuss the SF360 bill attempting put regulations on gene based mRNA, modRNA, and self-amplifying RNA, and DNA). The bill would prohibit the administration of these products until they undergo more thorough long term safety testing. Several individuals spoke in favor and in opposition to the bill.

Jessica Hyland, the executive director from the Iowa Biotechnology Association spoke in opposition to the bill.
