For Parents:
There is some bad language in the film that might not be appropriate for children, for example "Fuck", "Shit", and "Hell". This level of language is appropriate for the context of the film and parents will have to decide if their children should be exposed to this.

✴️The film excels as a tense, claustrophobic thriller with strong performances (especially Harrelson and Liu)

Plot:
Summary: Last Breath (2025) is a survival thriller based on a true 2012 incident involving Scottish saturation diver Chris Lemons. Chris (Finn Cole), along with veteran diver Duncan Allcock (Woody Harrelson) and calm, capable Dave Yuasa (Simu Liu), is part of a team maintaining oil pipelines 300 feet below the North Sea. Living in pressurized chambers aboard a ship, they rely on umbilical cords for oxygen, power, and heat. During a routine dive amidst a storm, Chris’s tether snags and severs, leaving him unconscious on the ocean floor with only 10 minutes of emergency air. As the ship’s dynamic positioning system fails, stranding the crew, Duncan and Dave race against time and raging elements to rescue him. Flashbacks to Chris’s life with fiancée Morag (Bobby Rainsbury) punctuate the tension, while supervisor Craig (Mark Bonnar) and captain Jenson (Cliff Curtis) manage the crisis topside. Miraculously, Chris survives 29 minutes without oxygen—defying science—due to cold water and pressure preserving him, and he’s resuscitated in the diving bell. The film ends with his recovery and reunion with Morag, highlighting human resilience and teamwork.

Characters:
Chris Lemons (Finn Cole): The protagonist, a young, skilled saturation diver whose enthusiasm for his job masks its dangers. He’s portrayed as earnest but somewhat flat emotionally, lacking the real Chris’s vibrancy (seen in archival footage). His near-death experience drives the plot.
Duncan Allcock (Woody Harrelson): The grizzled, experienced leader nearing retirement, wrestling with legacy and responsibility. Harrelson’s subdued intensity anchors the team, making Duncan a quiet, relatable hero.
Dave Yuasa (Simu Liu): The composed, determined diver who executes the rescue. Liu brings a steady, understated strength, contrasting Duncan’s weariness and Chris’s vulnerability.
Morag (Bobby Rainsbury): Chris’s fiancée, appearing in brief, sentimental flashbacks. Her role is limited, serving as an emotional anchor rather than a fully developed character.
Craig (Mark Bonnar): The worried diving supervisor, a technician MVP who coordinates the rescue with quiet urgency.
Jenson (Cliff Curtis): The ship’s captain.
