We Believe in God but Do Not Believe in God

Many people say they believe in God, yet they question why things don’t happen as they wish. This contradiction arises because, while acknowledging God as the creator, sustainer, and controller of everything, they still assume personal control over their lives.

If everything happens by God's will, then what we receive, don’t receive, or will receive is also determined by Him. When we complain about circumstances, it means we are considering ourselves the doers rather than accepting the will of God. This internal conflict creates stress, anxiety, and dissatisfaction.

The Bhagavad Gita teaches that events unfold due to past circumstances, not individual desires. Just as Arjuna's reluctance to fight in the Mahabharata stemmed from assuming himself as the decision-maker, we too suffer when we resist the natural course of events.

True belief in God means accepting life's circumstances as they come, without resisting or questioning them. When we surrender to this understanding, life becomes peaceful, free from unnecessary mental struggles.
