Who is “Really” Running the Show?
Review by: R. Dale Roth 2025-03-11
“Apologies for the low lighting in the video. I scoured the internet, & used all the editing skills I could possibly think of, only to arrive back at basically the same starting point every time. I’m pretty sure, however, you’re still going to find this presentation quite interesting. ”
Throughout history, certain influential groups have operated behind the scenes, shaping global events and controlling the flow of information. Jim Marrs, in his book "Rule by Secrecy", explored how a network of elites may have preserved and passed down ancient knowledge, influencing modern politics, economics, and culture. Three key elements—the Trilateral Commission, the Freemasons, and the Great Pyramids—offer insight into this hidden history.
The Trilateral Commission: A Global Policy Forum
Founded in 1973 by David Rockefeller, the Trilateral Commission was created to foster cooperation among the United States, Europe, and Japan. Marrs suggested that this organization serves as an extension of elite control, influencing global institutions such as central banks, governments, and multinational corporations.
Rather than direct governance, the Trilateral Commission operates through policy recommendations, influencing decision-makers in government and industry. While some speculate that it represents a push toward centralized global power, there is no concrete evidence linking it to older secret societies.
The Freemasons: A Historical Fraternal Order
The Freemasons have long been associated with secrecy and power, with members participating in various societal roles. Many of the Founding Fathers of the United States, including George Washington and Benjamin Franklin, were Freemasons, though the organization as a whole did not play an official role in forming governments or financial institutions.
Some symbols associated with Freemasonry, such as the all-seeing eye, appear on the Great Seal of the United States, though their inclusion is not definitively linked to Freemasonry. Marrs theorized that Freemasons and similar groups have preserved ancient wisdom, but these claims remain speculative.
The Great Pyramids: A Monument to Advanced Knowledge?
The Great Pyramids of Giza have long been a source of mystery and speculation. While Marrs highlighted anomalies that challenge conventional explanations, scholars have provided plausible theories for their construction and purpose:
The pyramids align with astronomical bodies, possibly due to ancient Egyptians using celestial observations in their architecture.
Their construction techniques are not fully understood, though theories involving ramps and levers have substantial support.
The pyramids' dimensions exhibit mathematical relationships, though interpretations suggesting deliberate encoding of sacred geometry remain debated.
Marrs suggested that these structures might be remnants of an advanced lost civilization, but mainstream archaeology attributes them to the engineering ingenuity of ancient Egyptians.
Theories of Long-Term Influence
By connecting these elements, Marrs proposed a broad theory of elite-driven influence spanning centuries. He suggested that:
The Trilateral Commission represents a modern consolidation of global influence.
The Freemasons and similar groups have preserved and hidden ancient knowledge.
The Pyramids and other ancient sites might be evidence of lost historical truths.
How This Connects to Today
Marrs’ theories remain controversial, but some of his concerns resonate with modern global discussions:
The centralization of financial power through organizations like the World Economic Forum and central banks.
The influence of elite think tanks in shaping government policy.
The ongoing fascination with alternative history, as mainstream archaeology continues to uncover new findings.
Jim Marrs’ work presents a compelling challenge to conventional history. By exploring ancient civilizations, secret societies, and modern elites, he encouraged critical thinking about who influences world events and how historical narratives are shaped.
While some of his connections remain speculative, his research invites further investigation into what history has yet to reveal.
