Rami Yahia reports from protests in Bucharest, Romania.

On March 9, 2025, the Romanian electoral authority rejected Calin Georgescu’s candidacy for the May 2025 presidential election. Outraged supporters of Georgescu descended on Romania's Central Electoral Bureau, demanding that Georgescu's candidacy be reinstated.

Calin Georgescu won the first round of the presidential elections in November 2024; however, the results were annulled due to dubious claims of foreign interference.

Since then, the EU has applied intense pressure to stop Georgescu from winning, as he is seen as an anti-establishment figure, heavily critical of NATO & Ukraine.

During his report, Rami Yahia interviewed two protesters, Stefan and Sabin. They shared their perspective on the handling of the elections as well as their motivation to defend democracy in Romania.
