The Long and Winding Road

In the journey of life, we often find ourselves navigating a long and winding road. This sermon explores the transformative power of grace through Jesus Christ and the path to eternal life. John 1:17 reminds us that while the law was given through Moses, grace and truth came through Jesus Christ, offering us a way to reconcile with God. In John 17:3, we are told that eternal life is found in knowing the one true God and Jesus Christ whom He has sent. This understanding leads us to the first key point: allowing Jesus to live through us. As John 15:4-5 teaches, we must abide in Him as branches connected to the vine, bearing fruit through His power, for apart from Him, we can do nothing.
Secondly, the sermon emphasizes the importance of studying and rightly dividing the Scriptures (2 Timothy 2:15). Through the study of God’s Word, we come to understand His grace, which is not earned but given freely through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9). We are reminded that faith without works is dead (James 2:26), calling us to live out our faith through action.
Finally, we are challenged to trust in Jesus rather than our own abilities. As Matthew 16:25 states, those who lose their life for Jesus’ sake will find it. Only in surrendering our strength to Him can we truly experience the freedom from sin and death that He offers (Romans 6:6). This sermon calls us to walk the road of grace, knowledge, and surrender, relying fully on the power of Christ in every aspect of our lives.
